General

General insurance questions

What does an independent insurance agency actually mean?

We are appointed with 200+ carriers but owned by no single one. That means we shop on your behalf and recommend coverage based on fit, not quota.

Do you charge for quotes or coverage reviews?

No. Quotes and policy reviews are always free. We are compensated by the carrier you ultimately choose — at no markup to you.

How quickly will I hear back after requesting a quote?

Most quote requests receive a tailored response within one business day, often the same day.

What if I am already happy with my current insurance?

Then we will say so. A free coverage review either confirms you are well-placed or surfaces gaps and savings worth acting on — your call either way.

Auto

Auto insurance questions

What are the minimum auto liability limits in Texas?

State minimum is 30/60/25 — but we strongly recommend 100/300/100 for most households and consider an umbrella once assets exceed $300K.

Will shopping multiple carriers affect my credit?

No. Quotes are a soft inquiry with no impact on your credit score.

How do teen drivers affect my premium?

Adding a teen typically raises premium 50-100%. We help structure good-student and driver-training discounts, plus restricted-vehicle assignments to soften the impact.

Home

Home insurance questions

What is a wind/hail deductible and should I have one?

A separate (usually 1-2% of dwelling) deductible that applies only to wind and hail claims. In DFW it is often unavoidable — we help tune it for the right cost/risk balance.

My roof is 12+ years old — can I still get replacement cost?

Sometimes yes, depending on carrier and roof material. We know which carriers in your zip code still offer RC on older roofs.

Do I need flood insurance in North Texas?

Most areas are low-risk but standard home policies exclude flood. We check your FEMA flood zone and recommend coverage where it makes sense.

Business

Business insurance questions

Is workers comp required in Texas?

Texas is the only state where most private employers can opt out — but doing so leaves you exposed to civil suits. We help you make the right call.

Do I need cyber liability for a small business?

If you store any customer data — emails, payment info, health records — yes. Breach response alone runs $20K+ uninsured.

What is a BOP and is it right for me?

A Business Owners Policy bundles general liability + property in one cost-effective package. Great fit for most small businesses under $5M revenue.
